Unchaste, licentious and un-godly women

These are the kindest words one gets if stopped on the streets of Tehran by the vice squad.
The women in Black cloaked semi uniforms with batons , escorted by men in uniform is what awaits you if you have your hair showing or have no socks or have tight cloths . Light colored cloths, tight ones and no socks, short sleeves ..are some of the reasons for getting arrested and ending up in prison cells.
"The current situation is shameful for an Islamic government. A man who sees these models on the streets will pay no attention to his wife at home, destroying the foundation of the family," said Mohammad Taghi Rahbar, a member of the culture committee of the Iranian parliament.
Mehdi kalhor , advisor to ahmadi nejad , thanks the suppression : "I see that your force has entered combat with this cultural invasion and, in its dirtier form, 'cultural NATO' through scientific means and I sincerely thank you and your colleagues.”
How ever this is not a popular plan and the public is very eruptive about this:
My friend mina while taking her manto off at home and taking a sight says: "If they want to stop vice, then why are these clothes imported? If they really want to deal with the problem then they should prevent the merchants from importing these mantos, pants, and scarves,"
“This is it mina” I said… “The whole point is to make you frustrated so much that you would not even think of any moves…”

Women like behaviour!!!

I think by now much of the hypocritical nature of the Iranian mullahs has unveiled it self in the recent British hostage crisis, but I must admit that as days go by, I tend to acknowledge my ignorance on this regard. I have lived practically all my life in Iran, and have been brought up with the Iranian culture and have understood the stingy, self centered ,dogmatic and mediaeval nature of the mullahs but “ By George!!” , they do tend to be expert hypocrites when it come to politics .

I was surfing through the archives of the conservative backed “baztab” site, when I came across the first news covering the suppression of the Women’s peaceful demonstration in Tehran in 2006.
I was amazed to find that the news site has despicably announced the tens of arrests and crackdown on these women as “ Women’s talk “ .
The news reads:

Some of the demonstrators had placards reading “support women’s rights to divorce”.
With the present of tens of women police, and their verbal interference, most of the women left the grounds, and those still remaining, had to go to their homes after having women’s talks with some of the police officers. Baztab reporter also saw some elderly women and men taken to police cars.

Now for my readers, the truth of the matter as reported by news agencies and bystanders and shots taken from the spot , the role of the female police was by far more than a “women’s talk”
The peaceful gathering of these women who carried placards supporting “freedom of speech” , “freedom of political prisoners” , “ women’s rights as Human rights” and many other slogans, was harshly crashed. Tens were arrested and taken away to interrogation cells in Ghasr prison and Evin prison. Some of the known Leaders were taken directly to the notorious 209 section of Evin prison.
